Table of contents
Tip
-
Compounds, statuses, item types, items, manufacturers, and warehouses can be excluded from the optimization without having to delete all related data by using the Use checkbox.
Compounds, Status, Item types
These tables are automatically filled when importing data from a snapshot. At each import, compounds and/or statuses and/or item types to consider are pre-selected depending on the content of this table
To learn how to import inventories, please read this article: How to import inventories (Production App)
Items
Items are used only in the context of imported productions. This table is automatically filled when importing data from a snapshot and contains the items related to the imported lots. Items are usually mapped to products in the Production App.
Manufacturers
Manufacturers are used only in the context of imported productions. This table is automatically filled when importing data from a snapshot and contains the manufacturers related to the imported lots. Manufacturers are usually mapped to production resources in the Production App.
Warehouses
Warehouses are used only in the context of imported inventories. This table is automatically filled when importing data from a snapshot and contains the warehouses related to the imported inventories.
Imported production mapping
This table is used to map imported productions coming from a snapshot to the Production App. When importing productions from a snapshot for a specific project, this table is updated (pre-filled) to contain all combinations of manufacturers and items found in the imported data. It should then be completed to map each of these combinations to a specific combination of product and production resource.
If an appropriate mapping already exists in the table, it will not be replaced during this process.
Multiple items and manufacturers from the snapshot can possibly be mapped to a single product-production resource combination. One item-manufacturer combination can also possibly be mapped to multiple product-production resource combinations.
Typically, items are mapped to products and manufacturers to production resources, yet a more complex mapping is possible.
Rate can be used in complex mapping if, for some reason, one unit of an item from the snapshot corresponds to more (or less) than exactly one unit of product in the Production App. Rate can also be used for converting units of imported data into units used in the Production App.
In the most common case, the default value of 1 is appropriate. One can also set the rate to 0 to exclude the corresponding imported productions from the the Production App calculation.
Imported inventory mapping
This table is used to map imported inventories coming from a snapshot to the Production App. When importing inventories from a snapshot for some specific compounds, this table is updated (pre-filled) to contain all combinations of warehouses and items found in the imported data. It should then be completed (if required) to tell the system which subsequent production resource(s) may use the inventory. Typically, if the warehouse is located at the origin production site, the inventory can still be allocated (shipped) to any subsequent production resources. If the warehouse is located at the destination (where the inventory is going to be used in a next production stage), the inventory (already shipped) can be allocated only to one subsequent production resource.
If an appropriate mapping already exists in the table it will not be replaced during this process.
